Finally

I get to use my Christmas present.  Got hardwood charcoal, rib-eyes and my new grate.
Super hot grill and excellent results.

My car turned 15 months yesterday and 3 mile short of 20,000.  They are so cute at that age.

As I mentioned before, another milestone as a parent.  Joel's first prom:

They had a nice time.

Then the after party.  Well after event.  It was alright, nothing super, just a place for the kids to keep out of trouble.  Yours truly chaperoned the event and got home around 4 am.

Joel also had to work from 7 to 12:30 today too.  Loooong day/night/day.

Another day and I just feel older.  My kids are growing up and it's so fast.

This weekend will be full of milestones.  Joel has a 2 day tennis tournament in Kohler.  Right after school he goes to play and then most of the team will be staying overnight for the next games.  There will be supervision but it's not me.

He then gets home just in time to get ready for prom.  Yep,  prom.  Dinner is at 5:30, Prom at the Washington County Fairgrounds and the post prom at the YMCA.

Kiki kicks off the fast-pitch softball season as well this weekend.  The girls get older and bigger and I just wonder where the time has gone.

It's 50 degrees, windy like a son of a gun.  Mowed the entire law after a morning of shopping with Tracy.  Kind of my mother's day reboot.

I got Leroy Meats 3 cheese brats on the grill and Lagunita's Brewing Little sumpin, sumpin Ale in a glass.

Lots of work in the next two weeks.  Trips to Cincinnati and New York, back to back.  Just in time for Memorial day.

Missing -

Missing my favorite hat,  a favorite hat of many handsome bald men.

My wide brim Tilley hat.

If any one has seen it or has it please let me know!

Thanks

Auto Cross #2

Second session for the Milwaukee SCCA Auto cross season.

First, Thanks to Tracy for letting me go and sorry to Mom for not doing anything with you.  I will make it up to both of you.

This Sunday was much nicer than the last time.  Warmer yet cool breeze.  Enough to fool me in the morning to not wear a hat and set some wicked sunburn.  2 days later and aloe 2x a day and I am still in some pain.

Anyway, The course was longer than last time but faster.  This time no DNF's  I ran the course perfect all 6 times and only hit cones on one of my runs.

I was the only person in my class, so I technically won it, but was grouped into the open class and did not fare so well.  Worst time of the day was 73.482 and my  best time was 69.748.   Depending on the car class you put me in I was either 108 out of 139  or 53 of 139.

This classing is very confusing.  Because of my wheels I am not considered stock,  even though they are the stock tires.  This is Street Touring Unlimited.  Which then opens me up for all kinds of performance enhancements.  Kinda sucks for me, so my adjusted time in that class is 108th overall.   If I were to just say I was stock and for the most part I am.  I place 53rd with my adjusted times.  Even some of the stock class have more modifications than I do.  The book that talks about the classes and rules is over 300 pages long.

Either way you look, I still have fun and I have a lot of room to improve.

I have cool 'real' numbers now too!

Hanging out for Tickets

Saturday, Me and my Boys headed out to Lake Mills. Yep Tyrenena Brewing Co. To get in line for some Great taste of the Midwest tickets.

We would camp out rain or shine and get them tickets!

So thats what we did. Sleeping bags and sling chairs. We arrived at 9:30 PM and were not the first in line. In fact about 12-15 tents were in front of us! We set up our spots and went to hang out at the bar.

Played cards and drank beer until about 3:30 AM. At least thats when I turned in. Paul and Glen stayed up a bit longer. Since the rain held off our ghetto tent wasn't that necessary, but it was funny.

Slept until about 6:45 and packed up. Only had 5 more hours before tickets went on sale. Noon rolled around and bam! magic tickets. Got home after 2 and did the zombie stumble until bed time.

Can't wait to do it again next year!
