Karma, anyone believe in it?    Of the few things I believe, this is one that just might hold water.   That and some people are just luckier than others and there is nothing you can cosmically do to change that.

One example I just had last week made me think about this a bit more than the normal 2 seconds I focus on.  After a baseball game in Sheboygan Falls we went to the Pizza Ranch, some all you can eat shakeys style buffet.  Remember Shakeys?  On a side note Shakey's could be one of the worse names for a restaurant.   The food is shakey, the owner is shakey, the chef literally has the shakes, my stomach is shakey for hours after eating there....

But I digress.  We walk in and look at the server/cashier.  "I ask, we have never been here, how does this work?"  She explains everything and oh by the way the first time at the Pizza Ranch is on the house.   WHaaaa?  As in gratis?  Yep.  Am I being punked?  Nope.  We eat our fill and realize we just had $30.00 of food for nothing.  Shocked as this is not the type of thing that happens to me.

Leaving the restaurant, there are a few people in the lot going to their cars, just like us.  One guy however is untangling jumper cables.    He starts asking for a jump.   I really don't like doing this anytime and I had my new car.  I got to thinking, return the restaurants generosity to this guy.  So I am the only one of 5 people that even acknowledges him.

I pull my car over, open the gleaming hood and am nearly blinded by the detailed engine bay :)

Hook up to his mint green explorer, and in about 2 minutes it starts.  He was thankful, I felt good and we went home.

Maybe that will come back some day when I can really use it, like the guy I helped.
Wow long week last week and its Wednesday here already.

Joel pitched 8 innings for the win in Kiel last night - also went 1-2 at the plate with a nice double.
Old guy softball split a double header - 5-5 and 2-1  yes 2-1 in softball.  We were not exactly ripping the cover off of it.

Joel has a double header at home and Kiki has her last home game tonight as well.

Bieber Fever

Oh Yea - I am so cool, back stage with JB.

Never had I seen the craziness that is Bieber Fever at SummerFest. Awsome day yesterday. Saw Spoiled Rotten at Jojo's martini lounge, which shared backstage access to part of the Marcus. Great weather, food, drink, friends and I touched JB on the shoulder trying to get my pic with him. Denied by a security guard - lol.

Again my son makes me the proudest parent I can be.

I would put Mackenzies up too as she did good this year too but it grading system is really dumb. No letters, so scores. More like a work review - Begining -(new to the concept), Developing (understands the concept) and Secure (Mastered the concept). I really hate the touchy feely way the schools grade. The high school wanted to go to a homework has no effect on the grade, no such thing as late etc. Luckily that got shut down, got to make sure it continues to get shut down.

Lets to go the the real world.
"Jeff, your report is late!"
"So I will get it done eventually", At least it wont affect my performace review or my pay or even my future employment, because thats how we did it in school.

Hell - I know college don't work like that either.

Anyway enough rant, time to bask in the glow of my wonderful children, who also gave me a wonderful fathers day yesterday.

Love you guys!

NEW NEW NEW - On the sidebar - click the link to go to the Google Calendar with the events on it including baseball games.   The Map buttons don't work real well so let me know if you need directions if planning on attending.

Thanks!
Schools out as of Monday!  Poor kids, they will want school back when I am done with them.

Tuesday came and went - rained out for Joel's Home Double Header and my softball game - that make 3 rain-outs this year already.

I will put a schedule together for those who want to see Joel or Mackenzie play (She plays tonight).

Quick update:

Mackenzie's team got the first win of the fast pitch softball season.  10-3 beat down of Leroy.

Joel had an away game at New Holstein yesterday.  12-3 win.  Joel pitched 4 innings   4H, 2 ER, 2K, 2BB.  He also went 0-1 at the plate with a walk and run scored.

Other than that not much else going on .

Summer baseball

Well school isn't even out yet but summer baseball is in full swing. After losing the first three games of the season the Kwesakum JV team has bounced back to even up at 3-3. Last night Joel pitched innings 5-7, Striking out 6, allowing 1 hit and then picking the runner off, to face the minimum. Preserving the 5-0 shut out. Depending on how you score it it was either a combined 1 or 2 hitter for the K-Town hurlers.

I got a golden ticket(s)!

The Great Taste of the Midwest is one of the premier beer festivals in the United States. On the second Saturday in August, over one hundred brewpubs and microbreweries from the Midwest come to beautiful Olin-Turville Park overlooking lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin, to share beer and good times with six thousand patrons.

After 2 years of lottery attempts, the third is a charm. Tickets to the Great Taste of the Midwest in Madison. This is a blast for sure. Got my hotel reserved and everything.

Now I don't have to wait until the last minute scouring ebay and craiglist for scalped tickets!
