Rotated the tires on the Rex yesterday.  Tire rolled infront of Joel's car.

The civic with some big 17" dubs.

Last gasp for summer.  We take the kids to the Dells for some school shopping and swimming.

Tanger outlet mall on Wednesday.  We really got some great deals.  The mall has coupons and most of the stores have specials - so you can double them up and save a lot.

Moose Jaw pizzeria for some good food.  They already had their pumpkin beer brewed.  Not really ready for that yet, but I had some.  Too much ginger.  Although it does get me thinking about fall and some lake front pumpkin.

Next day we moved from the Hilton to the Great Wolf Lodge.   It was like we had the resort to our self.   Line for a slide, no sir.   I was getting winded from going up all stairs.  We hit every slide multiple times.   We even got Tracy to go on the Tornado!  That was fun....its not to scary.  Well she was still shaking for 5 minutes after she got off.

Had some Marley's Caribbean for dinner and then finished on Friday morning at Paul Bunyan's of course.
So we get past the dryer breaking.

It's Tuesday and we will be gone the next few days at the dells.  I ask Joel to mow the lawn.

about 45 minutes later Joel comes in.  "Dad, the tractor is smoking".  really?
I go take a look,  it's not only smoking.  It's on fire!

Ok the tractor is not on fire, but the grass on the deck is.  The mower arbor bearings went oout and god knows how long he drove it because it was wrecked.  Wrecked so bad it was melted and started a fire.

So after the dryer - its time to drop $100.00 on mower parts.  Got that fixed and back in business.   Really getting worried that something else is gonna break.  Probably while we are away.  Like a water heater or something really messy.
Saturday morning.  Time to put some finishing touches on the monster cabinet in my garage.

Wait whats that - the dryer is really squealing.  bad.  Ok, after we work on this cabinet I will take a look.

It's probably just the idler or a roller.  Pull the dryer apart.  It's not a $15.00 wheel.  It's the $150.00 Motor.
And its Saturday and it's 4:00.  No appliance stores open anymore.
11:00 Sunday morning I am at the appliance parts place here in West Bend.  The motor is discontinued.  But they have one in stock!  So by 12:30 we are back up and drying clothes!
You know my travel luck is not that great.  So when my meeting ended early on Friday, I called the airline to see about a change in flight plans to get home earlier.   What do you know?  I have a different flights I can take and get home almost 4 hours earlier.  Sure it will cost the company $50.00 to make the change.  Call it employee "well-ness"

I get to the C-Bus airport.  The plane that's supposed to get me to Detroit is running late, and later and later.  Not good.  Anyone who flys NWA, er Delta knows that Detroit is awful for making connections.  Of course the 5:25 flight to Milwakee left without me.   Next flight?   7:50.  Ok  - get a sandwich and wait it out.  But wait.  The 7:50 plane is also running behind.  Almost an hour after scheduled take off do we actually take off.

On the way, we get turned back to Detroit because of the storms in Wisconsin.  Circle lake Michigan for a while. Well so I am in at 10:15.  Only 1 hour 45 minutes later than my orginal flight before I made changes.

Buckeye State

Let see over a week ago I was at doing the Ohio trifecta.  Three of my customers are in Ohio.  Cincinnati and Columbus.

Disappointing meal in Cincinnati.  Cadillac Ranch.  It was so bad it made me go online, sign up for a yelp account and then rate it poorly.  Blackened chicken with no black and no spice.  Cherry cobbler with old icy - ice cream and uncooked crust.

However the next day I was not to be denied.  After a 2 hour drive from Cincy to Columbus, I was ready to eat.  A little research goes a long way.   Sure it was a 20 minute drive from the hotel I was staying at but I needed redemption from a lousy dinner the previous night.

Enter the Thurman Cafe.  Came up on Yelp as a great burger place.  I only found out that it was on the Travel Channels Man vs Food show after I got there.

Menu Here.  I had the Johnnie Burger.  With the shot of tequila.

Hard to see the size of this thing here.  But look at the shot glass or beer glass for scale.

If you just go to this link you get a better idea of the size of these monsters.

In case you have to ask - yea, I ate everything.

Crap, I have so much work to do - I have three meetings next week in OH.  I thought I had 2 weeks to prepare.  What was I thinking.  Gonna be a few long nights of work.  At least the next 2 to 3 days.

Wow another long pause between posts.  Either I am busy or lazy.

Anway, Joel and I met Glen down at the summerfest grounds last Thursday for the 2010 Vans Warped Tour.  Hard to get your head around exactly what it is.  40 bands playing all over.  From 11:00 am to 8:00 PM

Once we figured out the layout we had a good time.

We saw - if not all some of the shows from:
Every Time I Die
Alkaline Trio
Dillinger Escape Plan
Andrew WK
ReelBig Fish
AM Taxi
Ice Nine Kills
Vanna
Versaemerge
SUM 41
The Casualties
Emarosa
Whispered Hallows
Automatic loveletter

Strangely enough I was not the oldest guy there, not even the second oldest (Sorry Glen).  Other than the super red head I have it was a good time.
