What a day

Well - We did the annual pilgrimage to Madison for Tracy's transplant check up. 11 years and still doing great. So good Tracy got reduced on several medications.

Went to the Great Dane for lunch. Had a gut buster of a sammich. 1/3 pound burger, 1/4 pound brat patty, bacon, caramelized unions and cheese. All on a pretzel roll. Of course I ate that thing, no problem. Did you really think I wouldn't?

Did a little shopping, just about left the kids there cause they bitch so much. Uhh shopping the is boring, ugh another store? Next year they ain't going. Stay in school.

Get home for music lessons and then I thought I would work on the website stuff and catch up on the blog. Glen got me his pictures from last weekend. He told me they were not very good, they were ok. Ever since they got that new camera for Xmas, they have had some problems. It's a shame really. Oh well, I will crop em up and webify them somehow. Look for the link or update.

I was trying to help Kiki make lunch for the field trip tomorrow. Yea, I am chaperoning. I really don't like doing it. Kids are snotty, ya can't put the little bastards in their place cause they are not yours. So I just grin, nod and say, I wouldn't do that if I were you. Do your parents let you do this? I'm pretty sure they don't, (maybe they do)? All I have to do is make sure you make it back alive. 4 hrs of misery. I told Kiki not to volunteer me again. Ya know I think I bitched about this is a prior post. This is the make up for last years that got snowed out. Where I made Mackenzie cry because I did not have to go to some play. I told her it was not me, I love going with her. I just think her class is a bunch of brats (as experienced from previous trips).

Anyway where I was going with this, is the lunch we were making. Go to grab a banana only to knock the f'ing bottle of BRAND NEW hot sauce I just got from the little shop in the Virgin Islands onto the floor. The tile floor we have is very nice but glass bottles filled with 10z of fresh hot awesome is no match for it.

Boom! hot sauce and glass every where. I said a few words, cleaned it up and now mourn my loss. Anyone want to go in on another order? At least another small bottle of different sauce is safely in the fridge

Lastly, I signed up for face book. Not sure what that's all about, but I will give it a chance. I have 4 friends in 2 days Yea!!! Now just to invite more.

Off to play the new download content for Fallout 3. The Pitt. Post apocalyptic Pittsburgh. I hope it's worth my $10.00

Whew. That was a lot to type about.

Weeknd

Well the weekend surprise party went off really well. Tracy did not suspect a thing. The resort (The Abbey, Lake Geneva) was nice, looks like a real nice place to go in the summer. All the pools, waterfront, boats etc.

Thanks to everyone involved pulling off the 40th birthday surprise.

Happy Anniversary

Well it's been exactly one year since I started blogging. What a year it's been.

I chronicled many things.

Travels and vacations
Baseball, basketball and softball
Good times with family and friends
Occasional rants and stupidity
Pictures of everything
Dad's illness and all those emotions

Not to let the emotions get away from me, I have fun doing this and will continue. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback and blog material. Hope the upcoming year is better in every way.

Cheers!

-Jeff

Sorry, I have not had the chance to blog too much the last few days. Here is a rundown of what has happened.

Saturday, Did Taylor birthday party. Happy 13th! A little incident left her not feeling well and a pretty nice shiner on her eye.... :(

Sunday, tried to burn the forest down behind my house. Well I did not try, because that would sound like I failed. Lets just say the wind picked up dramatically as did my anxiety did while frantically putting out the grass fire before it got to the woods.

Monday, Had my epidural cortisone injection. The IV hurt more than anything else. I feel a little better, although they said it would take 3-5 days to really feel it.

Tuesday, Had a nice day with the windows open and a St Patty's day meal of corned beef and potatoes.

Wednesday - has yet to present any material.

Well this is a strange one. Here it is 11:00 at night and cannot sleep, been laying in bed for some time and my mind is just all over the place. A far cry from the the 12 seconds it takes me to fall asleep normally.

So I got up. Xbox is in the shop, so no games to play, really don't want to start a movie in case I do fall asleep and well late nite TV is pretty bad. So I thought I would do some work and before that just hit the blog.

I finished a book. Brisinger, the 3rd book of the Eragon series. Swords and Sorcery kinda stuff. This was to be the last in the Trilogy, but the author apologized and said it would take four books to finish the story. What's he got to be sorry about? Taking my $$ LOL.

Was going to pick up the Joseph Bonanno autobiography Glen bought me got for a gift. Problem is they type in this book is tiny and there are almost no margins. It may be a good read but it will give me headaches. I will just to smaller bursts of reading to get that one in.

Wild Monday

That squalling belt I kept putting off on Tracy's car bit me square in the ass yesterday.

While at my appointment for my neck, Mackenzie called from school, sick. More like Drama queen. Got to talk to her about that, cause she is fine today. Anyway - Tracy left work because I was not home. Only to get the call that all kinds of lights are lighting up the dashboard. Oh shit I thought, now what? Well 2 minutes later she got off the freeway and the car went dead on 9th and National. Of all the nice places to stop. So after my Dr I head to get her. Sure enough the alternator belt was broke. Hence the lights and car dying once it ran out of battery juice. A few hours later Rays towing shows up and takes me to garage to get it fixed. I had to pay for the tow because AAA won't pay on an unregistered vehicle. Yep Unregistered. Looked at my records by check to the DMV has not been cashed for 6 weeks. So I have no new stickers. Another story.

By the time I got home it was 8:15 PM. What a night.

Bored - haiku!

the crappy weather
my options are limited
maybe I will nap

Seriously, what can I do. I sucked it up and finished the that basement I had to get done. Hey want to see pictures? Sure you do.

Turksville Wood projects page

Select new basement just finished. I cannot wait to see it stained. The stone and bar look really slick.

I suppose I could put mt tools away without hurting my neck too much. Maybe cribbage? Xbox is out for repair. I can't play Wii either.

Slow Blog

Have not been able to keep up like I have wanted to in the past few days. Work has been incredibly busy.

Anyway, my MRI results show an asymmetrical bulge of the disc in C6/C7. with impingement of the nerve. Of course! So I am trying to get into a spinal specialist and set a new course of treatment. Cortisone shots, surgery, who knows. I just know that this sucks and is putting me way behind on doing things I want to do. I did finally get some 'controlled substance' for pain. Oxycodone in a higher dose, big whoop.

Oh - Joel started drivers ed on Monday. I have mixed feelings on this. It's just the next milestone for him. Makes me feel old.

Car Show

Nissans GT-R (this one is right hand drive) One of the few cool cars at the Milwaukee Auto Show. Overall it was a down year that's for sure. Ford had about 8 Flex on the floor, a lot of trucks were missing and could they push hybrids anymore? No Volvo, No Jaguar. Maybe we should go to Chicago's car show next year. They were selling sunglasses and Sham-Wow's in the main hall. Really? C'mon.
