Happy Thanksgiving

Here it is, Thanksgiving morning. Not sure how to feel about it. Making a pie right now and maybe some lemon pound cake. Mom will me having everyone there for a actual dinner meal, instead of lunch as we have had for the last umpteen years. I expect some emotion from everyone, but its just all part of healing and getting on with life.

Proud to say Joel made the cuts for the Kewaskum Freshman Basketball team. Cannot explain how excited I am for him.

Parade

This is Grammy, Kiki, Jadyn and Joel after watching the Christmas Parade in Milwaukee, It was kind of cold. We went for breakfast after. It was a nice way to spend time together.

Been a while

I know my faithful readers (I know who you are) are craving more blog. Frankly I have not delivered as of late.

So where should we start. We find out today if Joel made the Kewaskum High School basketball team. 5 people were going to get cut, Joel actually said he was excited about the whole thing. I told him high school sports is exciting. Not everyone can do it and it takes dedication. He should be excited. I was excited that he was excited. He had better make the team -we just bought him some new sneaks for this. Just Kidding.

I have to go to Jacksonville on Sunday. Not looking forward to that. I will miss the MNF with the Packers as I will be flying home during the game. Must set the DVR incase its a really good game. I can watch 3 hrs of football in 1 hr with the DVR, its awsome. Tracy will argue that, but hey if you already know the score you only need to make a highlight reel. (lowlight?)

Lastly next week will be Thanksgiving. Again another holiday without Dad. I don't think a day goes by where I don't think about him some way or another. In some ways I am still in denial. These holidays do tend to cement the fact that he's gone and there is nothing we can do about it. I expect a bit of emotion to pour out at Mom's house come Thursday.

Party pooped

I think Mackenzie had a good time at the party. Sleeping almost standing up. I think Joel and Matt had a good time too.

Birthday Party Preparedness

Yep, it's that time again. To get ready for the swarm to come to our house, lay siege and leave, almost as fast as they come. I don't mean locust, I mean family.

6 weeks after his real birthday we are finally having Joel's 15th b-day party. Time to straighten up, get the food, beer etc. It would just be easier to give Joel $200.00 and call it even. Hmmmm, sounds like a plan..

Found out my brother is in Vegas attending some SOE/Marketing convention. (Search Engine Optimization, DUH!). Bastard never asked me.

I will be pestering him all week.

Another funny thing. Joel, great guitar purist, "I will never play Guitar Hero" Joel, Beat the game in 1 week on medium difficulty. "My hypocrisy only goes so far" Doc Holliday in the movie Tombstone Joel and I just caught the end of that on Saturday night.......bwahahaha.

Another Week

Well another week in the bag. The 1 month anniversary of Dad's passing. Still hard to believe. Every one still misses him. Great weather from Monday-Wednesday then it snowed a bit the last few days. Had a fire tonight. My Mom came over for the Packer game and dinner. I grilled. Only 28 degrees outside, not too bad.

Getting the kitchen started. Vanity is almost done. Maybe some pictures soon. What's next. Next week we have Joel's Birthday party, not bad - 6 weeks after his birthday.

Other than that it's been pretty pedestrian.

Hmm, seems lik this blog is going to the dogs. Great weather the last few days. Bailey is sleeping deep here.

Dog Sitting

Alli - Day One. Loves the kittys. They don't reciprocate. She stands vigil at the basement door waiting for them to emerge.
